Residential Projects
Pritchard Island Guest House
This project started as an effort to refurbish an underutilized guest house on Lake Washington. The result was a sleek retreat for the homeowners. Work included complete interior remodel, replacement of existing windows and redesign of the front elevation to incorporate new sliding glass doors that open up the entire east façade to the lake. An updated kitchen and reconfigured bathroom bring all the comforts of home to the guest house. The design of a Murphy bed allows for overnight accommodations or put it away for a large gathering on a summer day.
Nickerson Condo Remodel
To update and refine the interior of a 1980’s condo was the scope of the Nickerson condo remodel. The material selection was done to create the illusion of a larger continuous space. The built in cabinets along the living room wall provide storage and seating for the owner. The bar closes off when not in use, but opens up completely for entertaining. The finishes are simple, yet elegant allowing for the owner's art work and furnishing to bring excitement to the space.
Built Green Addition
The residents of the 1917 house desired a sunroom addition on the back of their house, while at the same time enlarging the very small bedroom located on the second story. The desire of the owner was to create an addition that respects the historic character of the house, and appears to be the original structure rather than an addition.
Extending life of an existing structure is a great way to make it sustainable. The addition to the 1917 residence in Walla Walla is designed to create more living space for the resident using all green materials and systems. A radiant floor system is used for heat. Water will be collected for irrigation and possibly to flush the toilets. Recycled materials are used whenever possible, and much of the material from the small enclosed porch is incorporated back into the design to eliminate waste. Nanawall is used to open the sunroom to the new outdoor patio.
Bellevue Remodel

Historic Addition
An addition of a master bathroom suite was the inspiration for this project in Walla Walla, Washington. The 1907 house originally had only one bathroom on the second floor. The owner desired a retreat that would incorporate a soaking tub, a large shower and a new closet. At the same time, it was important that the addition to not detract from the original design and form of the house. The interior and exterior were designed to be read as an existing feature of the house, rather than an addition.

The house was lifted off of its foundation and a new pony wall was infilled.
