Rione XIII
The goal of this project was to transform an existing retail space into a stunning “trattoria” without losing the charm of the existing structure. The kitchen layout was designed from a chef’s point of view and is open to the rest of the restaurant. The design approach aimed to celebrate the character of the space by emphasizing the exiting textural brick backdrop with simple built-in seating and selective features, such as the hand-blown glass light fixtures which hang above the bar. By erecting the reclaimed window wall between the two areas, the design aimed to create a dialogue between the restaurant and the neighboring tenant space.
